Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated October 5, 2026

This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It says what you may and may not do with Gusset, in plain words.

Words only, and keep them generic

Gusset takes what you type or say, and nothing else. There is no way to attach a file, a photo or a document, so a confidential drawing or report can't end up here by accident. What you write is sent to Gus, an AI assistant run on Anthropic's service in the United States, to draft your entry, and we keep the entry.

Keep it generic: no client names or confidential details. Describe the work in general terms and in your own words. That is what a regulator wants to read anyway. Gus points out client names, other people's names, addresses and dollar figures he notices in an entry and offers to make them generic, but he can miss things: what you enter is your responsibility.

Do not enter

  • Anything your employer or a client marks, or would treat, as confidential or proprietary.
  • Information that identifies a client, or a project a client would consider confidential.
  • The contents of client-owned documents and drawings you don't have permission to share.
  • Export-controlled technical data: ITAR or EAR in the United States, the Controlled Goods Program in Canada.
  • Classified or security-restricted material of any government.
  • Other people's personal information, beyond a supervising engineer's name and professional title.
  • Anything you don't have the right to share, or that infringes someone's copyright or other rights.

If you're not sure whether you may share a detail, leave it out.

Do not

  • Record experience you didn't have, or ask Gus to invent or inflate it.
  • Use Gusset to mislead a regulator, an employer or anyone else, or to submit anything on another person's behalf without their knowledge.
  • Share your account or your sign-in, or use someone else's.
  • Scrape, crawl or copy Gusset or its content by automated means, or use bots or scripts to access it.
  • Reverse engineer Gusset, or try to extract its source code, prompts or models, except where the law allows this despite a contract.
  • Try to make the assistant ignore its instructions, reveal them, or act outside its purpose ("prompt injection"), or use it for anything other than keeping your own experience record.
  • Try to get around the usage limits, overload the service, or run up AI costs on purpose.
  • Resell, rent or offer Gusset to others.
  • Try to get into another account, probe or test Gusset's security without our written permission, or interfere with the service.
  • Use Gusset to send spam, or for anything unlawful, harassing or harmful.

Limits and fair use

To keep Gusset fair and affordable for everyone, it limits how often and how much it can be used: a number of AI requests per minute and per day for each account, a limit on the length of a note, and caps on what AI use may cost in a day and a month. These are applied automatically and may change. When a limit is reached, Gus says so and logging carries on without the AI.

If something shouldn't be there

Delete the entry, and tell us at support@gussetlog.com if you need help. If you believe someone has put your confidential or copyrighted material into Gusset, write to the same address with enough detail for us to find it, and we will look into it and remove what should be removed.

What happens if this policy is broken

We may remove content, limit use, or suspend or close an account that breaks this policy, as the Terms of Service describe. Where it is reasonable and safe to do so, we will tell you first.

Reporting a security problem

Write to support@gussetlog.com. We read every report, and we won't take action against anyone who reports a problem in good faith and without harming other people's data.
